Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Timothy Hertz
Dr. Hertz and his wife Amy reside in Brooklyn, New York. He is a Vermont native, while his wife is originally from North Caldwell, NJ. Dr. Hertz completed his dental training at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where he earned the prestigious Donald Greiner, D.D.S. Scholarship for academic excellence. He completed his residency at the Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Hospital, giving back to those who have given so much for our country. He has also donated his time and care to participants of the Special Olympics and the Mission of Mercy. Dr. Hertz has taken extensive continuing education in restorative dentistry and root canal treatment. “When I am not taking care of my patients at Dental Care, I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my wife, Amy, and dog, Rusty.”
Dr. Amanda Hochstein
Dr. Amanda Hochstein earned her D.D.S. degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She completed her specialty training in Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry, where she was able to train under some of the most prestigious members of her field. She earned her board certification in Periodontics, and has lectured at local and national dental conferences on a wide variety of periodontal topics. She has extensive experience in all aspects of periodontal treatment, from implants to bone regeneration, to gum grafting and laser therapy. She is also a member of the board of the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. Dr. Hochstein brings to our practice the latest and most effective periodontal and implant treatments available, and strives to provide treatment that is comfortable and predictable. She is a very caring and compassionate practitioner, who prides herself on the relationships she builds with her patients.
Dr. Hochstein resides in New Jersey with her husband Greg. When she is not taking care of patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and traveling. What she loves most about working at Dental Care is the warm and caring environment in which she can provide exceptional care for each patient she treats.
Dr. Martin Stess
Dr. Martin Stess grew up in Monmouth County and graduated from Christian Brother Academy in Lincroft, NJ. He continued on to attend Allegheny College and received a degree in biology before he finished his education at Farleigh Dickinson College of Dentistry, and was awarded the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship. Dr. Stess then served his military obligation as a Captain in the Army Dental Corps where he was awarded the Army Achievement Medal. He has now been practicing for over 30 years in both Flemington, NJ and Schenectady, NY.
Dr. Stess is married with 2 grown children and is residing in Hunterdon County. When he isn’t practicing dentistry he loves to run and kayak and completed the NYC Marathon 3 times! He is also an avid lifelong Yankee fan and suffering Jets fan.
Dr. Stess enjoys meeting and establishing long term relationships with his patients and helping them to improve their oral health. He has always believed that oral health is an integral part of one’s overall well-being–especially important in light of the fact that periodontal inflammation had been linked to diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
